Stephanie Cleaves WSOC 2012

Stephanie Cleaves

Stephanie Cleaves completed her second season as an assistant coach with the Elizabethtown women's soccer team in 2011. A graduate of nearby Lancaster Catholic High School, Cleaves came to E-town with an extensive soccer pedigree.

Cleaves' collegiate career included time with three programs. She was a member of Division II programs at both Philadelphia University and Millersville University before spending her final two seasons at Houghton College.

An art major that also studied sports ministry as her minor, Cleaves earned her bachelor's degree from Houghton in 2010.

In March of 2010 she got the experience of a lifetime when she was chosen to represent Honduras as a member of its women's national team. Cleaves started on the team and participated in both the Central American and Caribbean Games. After qualifying losses to Nicaragua and Central America's top team, Costa Rica, Cleaves turned her training focus to the 2012 Summer Olympics, which will be held in London, England.

Cleaves has played premier level soccer or above since 1997 and began coaching during her final seasons at a collegiate player. Most recently, she played premier soccer for FC Delco out of Downingtown, Pa. She has spent time helping out at various camps and clinics and traveled to Costa Rica in February 2009 to help Score International promote sport ministry through soccer.
