Michael Henning is entering his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Elizabethtown College women's soccer staff in 2015.

Henning brings nine years of playing experience at the professional level to the Blue Jays, and has been involved in the management aspect of the sport since 2003.

Henning's professional career started with the Baltimore Bays of the United States International Soccer League (USISL) Pro League in 1996. The '96 graduate of Randolph-Macon College also suited up for the Delaware Wizards (1997-98), the Hershey Wildcats (1999-2001) and, most recently, the Harrisburg City Islanders (2004).

The outdoor game was not Henning's only stop. He also spent three seasons with the Baltimore Blast and six with the Harrisburg Heat on the indoor circuit.

Henning has extensive management and coaching experience. He joined on as a partner with the PA Soccer School in 2003, his first venture outside the coaching ranks. He also serves as Vice President of Pennsylvania Classics AC, having started with Classics in 2006.

From 2007-09, Henning served as general manager of the City Islanders, where he directed all operations of the franchise, including budget, marketing, ticket sales and player contracts.

Henning's first coaching stint was as an assistant at McDonough High School in Baltimore, Md., during the 1996 and 1997 seasons. He also led a group of 14-year olds as head coach of the Olympic Development Program in 2006 and has guided numerous club soccer teams since 1998.

Elizabethtown marks his first collegiate coaching position of any kind.

Henning currently resides in Hummelstown.
