Bob Scotten '78 enters his third season as women's soccer coach in 2010 after leading the Blue Jays to a 22-16-2 overall record and two playoff appearances in his first two seasons as head coach.

Scotten had been the head girls soccer coach at Conestoga Valley High School from 2001 to 2007, leading the Buckskins to six section championships and the 2007 Lancaster-Lebanon League title. He was honored as L-L Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2005.

Previously, Scotten served as head boys soccer coach at Pequea Valley from 1979 to 1982 and was an assistant coach at both Garden Spot and Conestoga Valley. He has also coached youth soccer for the Lanco United U-16 and U-17 girls teams, and spent one season as an assistant for the York College women's team.

A 1978 graduate of Elizabethtown with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education, Scotten was an All-MAC selection in 1976 when he scored a team-high 19 goals to help the Blue Jays reach the NCAA Division III final four.

After graduation, Scotten played for the Phoenix Sports Club team in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Stoners semi-pro team before entering the coaching ranks.

Scotten taught in the Pequea Valley School District for several years before entering the insurance business. In 1994, he opened the Bob Scotten Insurance Agency in Ephrata. He also operates the Bob Scotten Goal Scoring Camp during the summer, and holds an NSCAA Advanced Regional diploma.

Scotten is a 1973 graduate of Garden Spot High School, where he was a member of two District III championship teams and was a league All-Star.
