Anna Bires is in her first season as an assistant coach with the men's and women's cross country and track & field teams in 2019-20.
Bires volunteered as a distance coach for nearby Milton Hershey High School for the winter and spring seasons from 2013 to 2015. There, she designed and delivered workouts to 30+ student-athletes and helped many of them reach new personal records with several qualifying for the conference championship meet for the first time.
In the fall of 2015, she served as the head coach for the middle school's cross country team.
Bires mentored an 11th grade student at the school and watched her rejoin the track team in the spring season and place third at states in the 800-meter run.
Bires is a 2011 graduate of Cornell University, where she was a two-time Ivy League team champion in track & field and received All-East Honors in the 4x800m relay. She also garnered an Academic Alumni Award.
