Head Coach Yvonne Kauffman WBB 2011-12

Yvonne Kauffman

Elizabethtown College named Yvonne Kauffman as the school’s eighth women’s basketball coach at the start of the 1970-71 season, a decision that has produced one of the most successful head coaches in the history of Division III women's basketball.

During her tenure, Elizabethtown has registered a staggering 659 wins — over 70 percent of the program's victories. On December 8, 2004 she became the second coach in Division III history to amass 600 career wins. Entering the 2010-11 season, she is the second-winningest active coach in Division III.

Kauffman has coached every one of the school's 22 1,000-point scorers and seven All-Americans. She has posted 15 seasons of 20-plus victories. She has also taken the program to all 13 of its NCAA tournament appearances, both of its NCAA Division III national championships, and all eight of its conference championships.

The current head coach of the women's basketball team, Kauffman also serves as an Associate Director of Athletics and Professor of Physical Education at Elizabethtown. She was formerly a head coach of Elizabethtown’s field hockey team from 1967 to 2000 and women's tennis squad from 1970 to 1983.

She has accumulated an astounding total of more than 1,000 coaching victories during her 40-year stay at Elizabethtown. A 1966 graduate of Bridgewater (Va.) College, she was inducted into that school's athletic Hall of Fame in September 1997.
