Kyle McGuire enters his fifth season as head coach of the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse program in 2025 after after serving in an interim role for the 2021 season. McGuire joined the staff as an assistant in September of 2019.
After serving as the interim head coach for the 2021 season, McGuire was promoted to head coach at the end of the year. In his first year at the helm of the Blue Jays in 2022, the team finished the year with a 6-3 record and its fifth consecutive appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship. Matching the program record at the time, seven players earned All-Landmark honors and graduate student Tom Mahoney was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year and earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades for the third time in his career.
For the third straight year (2022, 2023, 2024), the Blue Jays received eight all-conference selections to establish a new program best. Owen Yake (2022) and Riley Langen (2023) were named the Landmark's Offensive Player of the Year. Jacob Griffin was named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 while McGuire and his staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year for the first time.
In his first year at Etown, McGuire served as offensive coordinator, helping the Blue Jays to a 3-3 record in the COVID-19 shortened season. In the team's three victories, Elizabethtown averaged just over 14 goals per game and scored a season-high 16 goals in the Blue Jays' upset win of No. 15 Dickinson, 16-12.
Over his five seasons, the Blue Jays have reached the conference championship in each. Etown went unbeaten in Landmark play in 2023 at 7-0, their first unbeaten league schedule in McGuire's tenure.
Before coming to Elizabethtown, McGuire spent the previous last four years as the head coach at Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, leading them to a 7-11 record in 2019 in the competitive Chicago Catholic League.
While coaching, McGuire worked as the regional director for NXTsports in Chicago from 2013-2018. He played a key role in launching the organizations NXT Lacrosse Chicago chapter for a company that runs 80 lacrosse camps and clinics, 25 boys and girls’ club lacrosse teams, and 41 lacrosse tournaments and recruiting showcases across the country.
Prior to his coaching and administrative career, McGuire was a four-year member of the lacrosse team at Lynchburg College, helping the Hornets compile a 55-16 record during his career. He recorded 32 goals, 40 assists and 72 points in his time at Lynchburg.
