High School
- Two-year starting goalkeeper on the soccer team for coach Jim Murray at St. Joesph's Prep in Philadelphia.
- All-Philadelphia Catholic League First Team selection as a senior.
- Led team to two straight appearances in the PCL semifinals (2011 and 2012).
- Team finished 14-4-2 his senior year.
- Posted a goals against average of 0.75 for the Hawks in his two varsity seasons.
- Made two saves and shut out Lansdale Catholic in a 2-0 PCL quarterfinal win Oct. 23, 2012.
- Registered nine shutouts during his senior season.
- Student leader on Ixthus Ministry team.
Personal
- Son of Ronald and Veronica Sandell.
- Comes from an athletic family, as his father played collegiate soccer at the University of Delaware, his uncle, Greg, played soccer and golf at Dickinson College, and his grandfather, Erv, was a member of the basketball team at Lafayette University.
- Has a younger sister, Julianna, and a younger brother, Luke.
- English major with a concentration in professional writing.
- Also working towards a minor in communications.
