After leading the Elizabethtown College men's & women's golf team for two season,
Scott Yeakle will step down to serve as an assistant coach.
In Yeakle's second season, the Blue Jays continued to sail to new heights.The men's team took home two invitational first places including their very first one at their own Elizabethtown Spring Invitational. Junior, Chris Kilduff earned a spot on the Landmark All-Confernece honorable mention team after tying for 13th at the Landmark Conference Championship. On the women's side, the Blue Jays earned their best Conference Championship finish as a team since 2017-18 as they took fifth.
In his first season with the Blue Jays, the program hit major milestones on both side's of the program. On the women's side, the program earned their first ever dual win (Susquehanna, 412-433) while
Megan Yoder also became the program's first ever individual title winner. On the men's side, sophomore
Chris Kilduff became Etown's first Landmark All-Conference honoree since 2021. The sophomore also landed his first career hold-in-one during the 2023-24 season. The men's golf team earned their first team tournament title (Penn St.-Brandywine Invitational) since 2011 which is also the lowest team score (300) in program history.
Yeakle brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to Etown after serving stints as a head golf professional at numerous clubs throughout Pennsylvania while also coaching at several high schools and higher-education institutions.
During his time as a head golf professional at courses throughout western and central Pa., Yeakle supervised all departments within the club/resort and was responsible for marketing and promotion efforts. He was also involved in conducting local and state golf events, developed instructional programs to help players of all skill levels, and coached and taught the game of golf.
Yeakle's coaching experience at the high school level includes 10 years at Lower Dauphin, Hershey, and Steelton-Highspire. He has also cumulated five years of college coaching experience at Dickinson College and YTI Career Institute.
In 1996, Yeakle became a Class A Member of the PGA of America. He was one of four selected as a member of The PGA of America's National Tournament Operations team.
Yeakle graduated from Central Penn College with a degree in automotive technology. He also attended the PGA Business School I & II.
