ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Senior
Sara Bean and junior
Sky Shinnen delivered goals for the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team Sunday afternoon in a 2-1 non-conference road win at Herbert Field over Lebanon Valley.
Ella Smith made six saves to earn the win.
It was a defensive first half from both sides as there were only four registered shots through 45 minutes, two for each team. One, however, found the goal as Bean scored her first of the season that gave Etown a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.
Nearly 20 minutes into the second half, Shinnen doubled the Jays' lead to 2-0 as she netted her first of the year in the 62nd minute.
LVC was relentless in the shot-taking department, outshooting EC 18-2 in the second half. Smith made all six of her saves in the second half and Etown left Herbert Field as 2-1 victors.
The Blue Jays play at DeSales on Wednesday, September 9, at 5 p.m.
