FREDERICK, Md. -- Will Withall scored the game's only goal in the second half as the Elizabethtown College men's soccer team blanked Hood on the road Wednesday night, 1-0.
The attacks took a bit to warm up on a cool September night as only five shots were recorded between the teams in the opening half.
The intensity picked up in the second half and it was Elizabethtown that was able to find the back of the net. Five minutes following a save from Jays' goalie
Logan Sumner, Withall netted his second goal of the season in the 54th minute to put Etown ahead by a goal.
Sumner made three more second-half saves, including a final attempt from Hood in the 88th minute to earn his fourth shutout of the season.
The Blue Jays host Wilkes in the Landmark opener on Saturday, September 26, at 1 p.m.
