BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College softball team was swept at Moravian on Sunday in Landmark Conference action. The Greyhounds won game one, 5-1, and game two, 9-1 (6 innings).
GAME 1: MORAVIAN 5, ELIZABETHTOWN 1
Moravian had their five runs by the end of the third as they led 5-0.Â
Morgan Carr scored
Brooke Huczko from third on a bunt single in the sixth.
Izzy Akelaitis had a pair of hits in the opening game. Huczko, Carr,
Maddie Reever and
Sarah Birner also collected hits for the Jays.
GAME 2: MORAVIAN 9, ELIZABETHTOWN 1
Elizabethtown totaled eight hits in game two but left seven on base.
Lily Baldwin's RBI ground out to second gave Etown the lead in the top of the first as
Hannah Long scored on the play. Baldwin had two hits in game two for the Jays, as did
Jess Dunn.
The Greyhounds quickly took the lead over in the bottom half with two runs.
Moravian broke open the game in the fourth with six runs and led 8-1 going into the sixth.
They were able to end the game in the bottom half of the sixtih with a walkoff RBI single to center field.
Elizabethtown still has the opportunity to make it into the Landmark postseason and will need to sweep Lycoming on Saturday, May 2, at The Nest. Game times are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.
