Men's track & field sets two new school records over weekend

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's track & field team had two new school records set over the weekend as the Blue Jays competed at both the Messiah Invitational and Bison Outdoor Classic. Joey Walko and Josef Book were the team's record-setters.

WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS
- Josef Book finished third in the 110m hurdles at Messiah with a new school record time of 14.73
- Joey Walko set a new hammer throw record at 49.83m while taking second at Messiah
- Lucas Novack was third in the 400m hurdles at Messiah, Gabe Sczesniak was ninth
- Frank Conte (7th) and Marty Ratchford (9th) placed for the Blue Jays at Messiah in the 10,000m
- Khaliq Poles was seventh in the 400m at Messiah
- Logan Rich was 10th in the javelin at Messiah (52.38m)

ALL-TIME PERFORMANCES
- Josef Book's time of 14.73 in the 110m hurdles is a new school record
- Joey Walko's throw of 49.83m (163'6") is a new school record
- Josh Focht's throw of 11.90m (39'0-1/2") improves his ninth-place standing in the shot put all-time
- Logan Rich's throw of 52.38m (171'10") in the javelin moves him from eighth to fifth all-time
- Derek Kendig's time of 30:50.29 in the 10,000m at Bucknell is third all-time

Elizabethtown will compete at Millersville this Saturday, April 18.
