Bliss, Speed place first for wrestling at Futures Mideast

READING, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College wrestling team had nine total place finishers, including two winners, and 64 team points to place fourth overall on Sunday at the 2026 Futures Mideast Tournament held at Alvernia University.

Ethan Bliss and Jacob Speed were each first-place finishers for Elizabethtown, Bliss at 165 and Speed at 174.

At 125, the Blue Jays had a pair place. Roman Polcha took third and Hunter Petterossi finished sixth.

Casey Spina placed sixth at 149 and Aidan Hines was fourth at 157.

John Maurer joined Bliss as the second top-six performer at 165 for Etown. Maurer was sixth.

Gavin Wagner took fourth at 197 and Jimmy Yeingst ended sixth at 285.

Elizabethtown has the NCAA Region 3 Championships coming up this Friday and Saturday at The College of New Jersey.
