WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's soccer team came into Saturday's game at Lycoming tied with the Warriors for sixth place in the Landmark on six points. The Blue Jays scored the only goal of the game to claim three pivotal points with only a handful of conference games remaining.
Jason Stark tallied for Etown while
Logan Sumner registered his eighth shutout of the season.
Neither team reached 10 shots in the game, so a more defensively contested matchup on UPMC Field. The Warriors held Elizabethtown to just three shots in the first half, but one of those was the lone goal.
Carlos Salazar set up Stark for the goal in the 12th minute.
Caba Alvarez and
Will Withall each had chances saved in the first half as the game remained at 1-0 going into halftime.
Sumner only need to make one save in the second half, though it came in the final five minutes of the game. The sophomore is now tied for seventh in single-season shutouts with eight.
Elizabethtown remains on the road in another crucial Landmark matchup as they face Drew in New Jersey on Wednesday, October 21.
