ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- Elizabethtown College Athletics is currently accepting nominations for Ira R. Herr Hall of Fame as well as the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Joseph A. Whitmore Outstanding Service to Student-Athlete Award. The deadline to submit nominations is March 6, 2026

The Ira R. Herr Athletic Hall of Fame honors those individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to the intercollegiate athletic program at Elizabethtown College, or who have earned distinction in the world of athletics. The hall of fame opened its doors to the inaugural group of inductees in 1975.
*Graduates of the College are eligible provided at least ten years have elapsed since graduating. 

The Joseph A. Whitmore Service to Student-Athletes Award recognizes a member of the Elizabethtown College community who, like Joseph "Coach Joe" Whitmore, has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty to touch the lives of Blue Jay student-athletes.

The Blue Jay Athletic Association Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes Blue Jay student-athletes who, subsequent to graduation, have distinguished themselves above others in making significant professional and/or volunteer contributions to society.  Through selfless work, and demonstrating exceptional initiative, leadership, generosity, and compassion, the recipient has touched and improved the lives of others, personifying the Elizabethtown College motto, "Educate for Service."

The induction ceremony and awards presentation will be on Sunday, November 22, 2026, during the Blue Jay Athletics Alumni Reunion.
