LEXINGTON, Va. -- In their first action of 2026, the Elizabethtown College wrestling team took second at the Jim Crytzer Invitational hosted at Washington & Lee on Saturday. Three wrestlers won their weight class and the Blue Jays were the runner-up with 122 points.
Justice Hockenberry ran through the 165-pound bracket without conceding a single point all day. The junior recorded four consecutive technical falls, 15-0, 16-0, 15-0, 15-0, before a 14-0 major decision in the first-place match.
Ganon Smith went 4-0 on the day including three falls on his way to taking the top spot at 184.
Will Davis was the third Blue Jay to finish first. After a bye, Davis went tech fall, major decision, and then decision in the first place match.
Roman Polcha took fourth at 125,
Corey Cope (133),
Gavin Fehr (174), and
Sav Niewiadomy (285) were each fifth for Elizabethtown.
The Blue Jays will wrestle at Jersey City on Friday, January 9.
