WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- Justice Hockenberry, Ganon Smith, and Will Davis each went 3-0 on the day for the Elizabethtown College wrestling team at the NY vs. PA Duals held at Wilkes University. The Blue Jays went 2-1 overall in their three duals matches with wins over the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Hunter.

Elizabethtown began the day with a 16-point victory over Merchant Marine. Deven Jackson, Corey Cope, and Owen Heffner for the Jays out to a lead and then the back half of the lineup secured it with wins at 165, 184, 197, and 285. Hockenberry, Smith, and Davis all won via decisions and Sav Niewiadomy scored a major decision to close out the match.

20th ranked NYU proved too much to handle for Etown, though Hockenberry, Smith, and Davis managed a pair of tech falls and a fall to record the Jays' 16 points in the match.Tech falls went to Hockenberry and Davis while Smith earned the fall at 3:34.

EC wrapped up the day with a dominating win over Hunter, taking eight of the 10 bouts, seven of which were bonus points. Jackson had a tech fall at 125, Heffner recorded a fall at 141 in 2:16, Aiden Hines collected his first dual win with a major at 157. Hockenberry registered his second tech fall of the day at 165, Gavin Fehr pinned his opponent at 174 in 1:15 and Smith followed with a second consecutive fall, his second of the day. Davis scored a major and Jimmy Yeingst got the go-ahead at heavyweight and didn't concede a point in a 4-0 decision.

Elizabethtown will host the Ken Ober Memorial Invitational in the Bowers Center next Saturday, January 24.
