Men's cross country takes fourth at Shippensburg's Galen Piper Alumni Challenge

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's cross country team took fourth as a team on Friday at Shippensburg's Galen Piper Alumni Challenge. The Blue Jays totaled 90 points with Derek Kendig leading Etown at the meet.

Elizabethtown had multiple runners in the top 10 for the second consecutive meet to start the season. Kendig was ninth overall and Will Inglis, last week's race winner at F&M, was 10th overall. Kendig ran 19:46.2 while Inglis finished in 19:51.1.

Marty Ratchford placed 14th in 20:31.8 to give the Jays three inside the top 20.

Carson Brooks was the fourth Etown runner to complete the 6k course, 29th overall. Michael Beach was 35th for EC.

The men's cross country team will host their alumni on Saturday, Sept. 13, for the annual Blue Jay Alumni Challenge.
