ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's cross country team edged out their alumni counterparts on Saturday at the annual Blue Jay Alumni Challenge. The Blue Jays won by three points, 26-29. Matt Fick won the men's race for the alumni team.

Derek Kendig were the only two to go under 14 minutes in the 4.5K, looped course. Fick's winning time was 13:50 while Kendig ran 13:58 to place second.
Etown took two-three-four thanks to Kendig,
Will Inglis (third), and
Marty Ratchford (fourth). Inglis crossed in 14:11 while Ratchford posted a time of 14:14.
The alumni kept the scoring close as recent grads Brandon Baxter and
Daniel Myers were fifth and sixth.
Michael Beach was seventh in 14:47 and
Jedd King was 10th in 15:14, as both sides split the top 10 places evenly with five apiece. The order in which they finished went in the favor of Elizabethtown as they came out of the meet with a three-point win over the former Jays.
Elizabethtown will next compete at the Dickinson Long/Short Course Invitational on Saturday, September 27.
