Myers among finalists for Landmark Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year

TOWSON, Md. -- Recent graduate Daniel Myers, the 2025 Landmark Men's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete is among the four finalists for the 2024-25 Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Elizabethtown College. Finalists are selected from the conference's Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year in each sport from the academic year. The league's overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be chosen from the four finalists and will also be submitted for consideration for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
 
This award recognizes a graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service during their collegiate career.
 
Men's Finalists
Sean Neylon – Catholic University, Men's Basketball
An accounting major with a 3.64 grade point average, Sean Neylon was a key contributor during Catholic's run to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Neylon led the team in scoring (16.4 ppg), totaling 491 points on the season. He earned 2024-25 Landmark Conference Player of the Year honors and was named First Team All-Conference, marking his second All-Landmark selection. His stellar season also garnered National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Third Team All-America honors. Over his three seasons, Neylon amassed 1,034 points, 188 three-pointers, and appeared in 82 games. Off the court, Neylon was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team and gives back through the Neylon Basketball Camp.
 
David Hoyt – Drew University, Men's Soccer
A biochemistry and molecular biology major with minors in anthropology and public health, David Hoyt was a standout scholar in Drew's Baldwin Honors Program with a grade point average of 3.97. A team captain and starting goalkeeper in his fifth year, Hoyt also played for Drew's men's volleyball team in 2022. His academic résumé includes the CSC Academic All-District Team, Academic All-America finalist status, and multiple institutional awards and scholarships. Beyond the classroom and field, Hoyt participated in international study, undergraduate research, and extensive community service, from mentoring peers in STEM to aiding recovery efforts in New Orleans with Volunteers Without Borders.
 
Daniel Myers – Elizabethtown College, Track & Field
Daniel Myers, a finance major with a grade point average of 3.75, had a decorated four-year career in track & field. A six-time All-Landmark Conference honoree, he helped lead the Blue Jays to a third-place team finish at the 2025 outdoor championships, finishing second in the 1,500m and third in the steeplechase. His academic honors include the CSC Academic All-District Team and USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, alongside Elizabethtown's Male Distinguished Student-Athlete Award. He was also a member of multiple honor societies. Off the track, Myers served as a mentor through the Attollo Program and JP McCaskey High School and volunteers regularly with Brittany's Hope and the Ben & Tim 5K.
  
Joey Woodrow – Juniata College, Baseball
With a degree in chemistry (minors in biology and bioethics) and a grade point average of 3.75, Joey Woodrow was excellent on and off the field. A 2024 First Team All-Landmark and All-Region Third Team selection, he finished his career with 125 hits and 74 RBI across 124 games. In the classroom, he earned numerous academic honors, including the Rockwell Chemistry Prize and multiple scholarships, and contributed to two manuscripts through undergraduate research. A two-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll honoree, Woodrow was also active in community service, organizing team involvement in events like the Special Olympics, local storm recovery, blood drives, and the United Way Day of Caring.

The Landmark Men's Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be announced on Tuesday, July 8 at 1 p.m.
