Program, facility, Landmark record goes down as women's track & field takes second at home meet

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Kelty Oaster set a new program, facility, and Landmark Conference record this weekend at the two-meet Miller Sports Construction Blue Jay Tune-Up, hosted by the Elizabethtown College track & field teams. The Blue Jays totaled 161 points to place second in the team scoring.

The 4x100m raced at Penn Relays on Friday, April 25. Etown ran 50.73 in their heat and are now ninth all-time.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Oaster won the 400m in 55.70 to break her own school record and set a new facility and Landmark record in the process. Her time puts her in the top 20 in Division III, currently. Sophie Shadle was sixth in 1:01.15
- Both 100m hurdlers placed as Kate Bendall took second in 15.66 and Liliana Zimmerman was fifth in 16.61, now sixth all-time.
- Three 400m hurdlers placed with Kirsten Navich leading the way as the runner-up in 1:06.91, improving her fourth-place standing all-time. Zimmerman was fifth in 1:11.12, now eighth all-time. Jaelyn Pennypacker was seventh in 1:12.02.
- Ellie Heilman won the steeplechase in 12:28.98.
- The women's 4x800m won in the program's third-fastest time, 9:36.10. The relay included Navich, Maureen Bosak, Addison Kleinle, and Oaster.
- Bendall finished second in the long jump and third in the triple jump.
- The Blue Jays won three of the four throwing events this weekend. Maura Bradney won the hammer on Friday while Isabella Cowger (discus) and Mylea Neidig (shot put) each won on Saturday. Bradney placed in three of the throws, winning hammer, fourth in javelin, and sixth in shot put. Cowger set a new PR in the shot at 11.86m to improve her fourth-place standing all-time after taking third and Jess Pronchick threw her way into the top 10 in program history with her mark of 11.16m, now eighth all-time and fourth overall in the shot.
- DaniRae Renno was the hammer and discus runner-up while Alexis Rich was second in the jav.

Elizabethtown will compete at next weekend's Landmark Outdoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University.
