LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Kelty Oaster set two new records and
Trevor Albright ran a total of three new personal bests for the Elizabethtown College track & field teams this weekend.
Oaster, who broke the school and conference record in the 800m on Saturday, came back earlier Sunday to break her own school record in the 400m, lowering it to 57.03. She placed 10th overall.
The women's 4x400m ran the 10th fastest time in school history to close out the meet, running 4:02.38.
Sophie Shadle,
Kirsten Navich, and
Melissa Patton put Oaster, their anchor leg, in position to win the heat and that's what she did. Despite a five-second head start for Rowan, who had led throughout, and Millersville's two-second lead, Oaster cruised down the backstretch to overtake the Marauders' anchor leg before catching and taking the lead over the Profs down the home straightaway and crossing first.
Albright, who had run a personal best in the 200m at Messiah on Saturday, 22.39, also ran the event at Bucknell on Sunday. The sophomore's time from Saturday was 10th best in program history and on Sunday he lowered that to 22.02, now tied for fifth.
Earlier in the meet, Albright ran 49.30 in the 400m to improved his third-place standing all-time.
Lucas Novack and
Luke Vottero ran the first two legs of the Blue Jays' 4x400m relay. Vottero passed the baton off to
AJ Sasso, who flew around the track in 49.3 to take Etown from fifth to second. Albright anchored, and his 48.6 split was good enough to get the Jays a win in their heat at 3:20.85, a season-best.
Elizabethtown will be in action on Wednesday, April 16, at the York (Pa.) Twilight Meet.
