Yeingst wins heavyweight bracket at Mideast Futures Tournament

EWING, N.J. -- Junior Jimmy Yeingst won the heavyweight bracket for the Elizabethtown College wrestling team on Saturday at the Mideast Futures Tournament held at The College of New Jersey. The Blue Jays were 8th out of 12 teams with 28 points.

Yeingst went tech fall, decision, major decision to finish first at 285. He won 18-0 in the quarterfinals, 4-3 in the semis, and 15-2 in the final.

Ethan Bliss won via medical forfeit in his first consolation match before a 4-1 decision that followed. A win via fall put him in the fifth-place match, which he won via forfeit.

Gavin Wagner also placed for the Blue Jays. At 197, Wagner used a forfeit to advance to the fifth-place match, where he won via major decision, 14-3.

The Blue Jays will get set for the Mideast Regionals held at Messiah University next Friday and Saturday.
