Men's track & field wins pair of events, set new PRs at Diplomat Open

LANCASTER, Pa. -- It was a good start to the 2025-26 indoor season for the Elizabethtown College men's track & field team on Friday. The Blue Jays opened up their season at the Diplomat Open hosted at Franklin & Marshall. Cam Michaels and Will Inglis each won an event for Etown.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
-Michaels won the 200m in 22.93 and Inglis was the fastest in the mile at 4:23.86.
-Joey Walko set personal bests in both the weight throw and the shot put. He was second in the shot at 13.90m and fourth in the weight throw at 15.07m.
-Matt Lamb was the runner-up in the 60m while Lucas Novack also made the final and took eighth. Both Jays also set new personal bests in the event.
-Blake Haddon cleared 1.90m in the high jump to place third and Waid Gainer cleared 1.85m to tie for fourth. Gainer was also seventh in the 60m hurdles.
-Derek Kendig took fourth in the 5,000m and Marty Ratchford was ninth.
-Jimmy Undercuffler was sixth in the triple jump at 12.58m.

ALL-TIME PERFORMANCES
-Matt Lamb's 7.05 in the 60m final moves him from fifth to third all-time
-Lucas Novack's 7.17 in the 60m prelims moves him from a tie for seventh to sole possession of seventh all-time
-Cam Michaels' 7.24 in the 60m prelims is tied for ninth all-time
-Waid Gainer's 8.88 in the 60m hurdle final is sixth all-time
-Blake Haddon's jump of 1.90m (6'2-3/4") in the high jump is tied for sixth all-time
-Jimmy Undercuffler's mark of 12.58m (41'3-1/4") in the triple jump is ninth all-time
-Joey Walko's mark of 13.90m (45'7-1/4") in the shot put moves him from fourth to third all-time
-Joey Walko's mark of 15.07m (49'5-1/2") in the weight throw moves him from third to second all-time

Elizabethtown's first meet of 2026 is the Alvernia Winter Shootout on Saturday, January 17.
