TOWSON, Md. -- A goal in each half helped Goucher defeat the Elizabethtown College men's soccer team on Saturday at Beldon Field, 2-0.

The game was 0-0 through the first 40 minutes until the Gophers put one on the board close to halftime. Goucher turned one of their 11 first-half shots into the game's opening goal in the 43rd minute on Anthony Ketelsen's goal to put the home team in front right before half.

Elizabethtown outshot Goucher in the second half 8-5 and Gophers' goalie Ale Sternini needed to make four saves to keep the Jays off the scoreboard.

Goucher added a late goal, with a little over 10 minutes to play in regulation, to help put the game out of reach.

Connor Kirchner, Jude Ashley, and Aidan Valentine all tied for a team-high with three shots in the game.

The Blue Jays will finish out their season on Tuesday, October 28, at Moravian for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Greyhounds.
