ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Scranton came in to Wolf Field on Saturday and beat the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team in the Landmark Championship, 17-6.
Gavin Gismondi and
Colin Kondracki each had a pair of goals for the Blue Jays.
It was Elizabethtown on the board first with
Connor Stewart scoring two and a half minutes into the game. Scranton scored twice in a minute's span later in the first and led 2-1 until
Ryan Flanegan dished to Gismondi to tie the game at 2-2. The game was all squared through 15 minutes.
The second quarter is where things changed drastically. The Royals tallied first and led 3-2. Gismondi responded for the Jays with his second at 10:14, and from there, it was all Scranton.
The Royals scored four unanswered to close out the first half and led 7-3. Then, they recorded a 7-0 third quarter to take control of the game, leading 14-3 after three.
Etown got three back in the fourth from Kondracki (2) and
Riley Langen, but the deficit was far too big to overcome in just 15 minutes. The Royals also scored three goals in the fourth.
Kyle Holmes was named the Most Valuable Player for the Scranton.
