TOWSON, Md. -- For the second straight year, the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team boasts the Landmark Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete selection.
Mylea Neidig was named the league's award winner on Thursday, the fifth for the Blue Jays overall.
Neidig recorded points in the throws for Elizabethtown all four years at the Landmark Outdoor Championships, including her first gold medal at the 2024 edition of the conference meet in her own throwing circle on the first weekend in May. Neidig was sixth in the shot put in 2021, seventh in the discus in 2022, fourth in the shot and sixth in the disc in 2023, the Landmark champion in the shot and bronze medalist in the discus this year.
The senior is the third outdoor athlete to earn the honor from the Landmark and second straight thrower for the Jays to be named by the conference voters.
Neidig has set Top 10 program marks in her three throws. She ranks third all-time in the shot put and discus while ranking 10th in the hammer throw.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Neidig will also be a three-time Academic Honor Roll selection as well as a 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, an honor in which she'll have the opportunity to earn again for this academic year.
