Baxter named Landmark Men's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. -- Senior Brandon Baxter was named the Landmark Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete on Thursday. He is the eighth Senior Scholar Athlete for the Elizabethtown College men's track & field team and fourth Blue Jay to earn the outdoor distinction.

Baxter, the 2024 Landmark 800-meter champion, receives a second Senior Scholar Athlete honor for the 2023-24 academic year after being named the Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete, only the second runner for Elizabethtown to accomplish this feat. Christian Schaaf did so in 2021-22.

Among the program's Top 10 in the 800m and 1500m now, Baxter placed in both races at the 2024 Landmark Outdoor Championships at Elizabethtown. He qualified for the AARTFC Outdoor Championships at SUNY Cortland last week and finished 8th in the 1500m and ran a leg on the third-place 4x800m relay. Baxter was also a leg on the two-mile relay that won in 2021.

Baxter will be a three-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection. He has also been a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.

A hard worker on the track, Baxter also excels in the classroom with a near 4.0 cumulative GPA as a biology (pre-med) major at the College. He was a Blue Jay Athletic Association Male Distinguished Student-Athlete Award nominee in 2024.
