ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Sophomore
Gianna Anzideo threw a complete game in game two to help the Elizabethtown College softball team earn a split with Hood on Wednesday in non-conference action at The Nest.
Kristen Aydelotte put down the bunt for the sacrifice squeeze in the bottom of the first in game one as
Brooke Huczko read the play perfectly to scoot home. No play at the plate so the defense elected to allow the run to get Aydelotte at first.
Elizabethtown led 1-0 until the fourth when Hood put up three runs and added another in the fourth.
Blazers' pitcher Becca Gottleib didn't allow another run as she shut down Etown to get the game one win for Hood.
Similar to Elizabethtown in game one only a reversal this time in game two as Hood led 1-0 after the first.
The Blue Jays tied the game on
Sarah Birner's sac fly to center field to score
Hannah Galbraith. Later in the inning with Huczko at third and
Hannah Long at second, Long took off for second and Huczko alertly read the throw of the catcher and dashed home to score safely on the play as Etown went ahead, 2-1.
Anzideo didn't allow a run over the final six innings as she scattered seven hits for her fourth complete game of the season and her third win fo the year. Birner and
