Hudges leaps to new school record, wins high jump for men's track & field at SU Tune-Up

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's track & field team spent their final regular season Saturday of the indoor season at the spot they'll be in seven days as they took part in the SU Tune-Up. Malik Hudges won the high jump and set a new school record in the process for the Blue Jays. The meet was not scored.

Hudges was down to his final attempt at 1.87m before clearing, and then at 1.92m, he was the only jumper left to make it over safely to finish first. The bar was raised once more, to 1.95m, with a clearance becoming a new school record (1.94m), and Hudges moved his name to the top of the all-time list on his second attempt at 6'4-3/4". Lucas Maggipinto tied for sixth at 1.77m.

Logan Freyermuth and Trevor Albright were neck and neck in the 400m for Elizabethtown yet again. Freyermuth ran 52.18 to take second while Albright was third in 52.34. They were also two legs of the 4x200-meter relay that placed second in 1:35.81.

Benjamin Ortiz ran 9:39.45 to take third in the 3,000m. Myron Holland Jr. was fifth in the 60m at 7.17.
