LANCASTER, Pa. -- Three athletes had personal bests for the Elizabethtown College men's track & field team Friday at the Diplomat Open held at Franklin & Marshall College.
Trevor Albright had two PRs himself and won the only event of the meet for the Blue Jays.
Albright ran 7.27 in the 60m dash where he placed 10th overall and tied for the 10th fastest time in program history. Then, in the 400m dash, he was the only competitor to run a sub-50, clocking a 49.80 to win the event and move from fourth to second all-time. He is just the second sprinter for Elizabethtown to go sub-50 in the open indoor 400m.
Joey Walko placed in both throws at F&M, one with a huge personal best. He began his indoor season with a heave of 14.56m (47'9-1/4") in the weight throw to place fourth overall. His mark moved him from eighth to third on the all-time list, better than a five feet increase to his previous best throw. Later in the meet in the shot put, he threw 12.54m (41'1-3/4") to take ninth.
Matt Lamb was fourth in the 200m at 23.61 and
Lucas Novack placed fifth in 23.68. Lamb also ran a personal best earlier in the 60m with his time of 7.13 in the prelims to tie for fifth in Etown history. In the final, Lamb ran 7.17 and took seventh.
Adam Carmo ran 8.94 in the 60m hurdle prelims to qualify for the final where he was finish second in 9.03.
Will Withall took seventh in the 800m at 2:05.72, his first collegiate race with the Blue & Gray.
Lucas Beaver claimed a pair of sixth-place finishes in the horizontal jumps. First, he jumped 6.07m (19'11") in the long jump and came back to hit 11.91m (39'1") in the triple jump.
Chikezie Emmanuel was eighth in the triple at 10.24m (33'7-1/4").
The 4x400m relay finished the meet out with a fourth-place run.
Elizabethtown will compete in January after their winter break at the Cardinal Track & Field Classic on Saturday, January 18.
