Women's Swimming Opens New Year with Win over Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's swim team opened up 2024 after a week of training in Florida with a 135-62 win over Lebanon Valley, Friday afternoon. 

In the first event of the day, the team of Molly Nagle, Katie Midura, Jordyn Dutko, and Emma Jefferson claimed first in the 200m medley relay with a time of 2:26.36. Hailey Poulos took the top spot in the 800m free clocking in at 10:27.36 while Jefferson and Claire Garbarini finished second and third, respectively. In the 200m freestyle, Olivia Hillman touched the wall at 2:24.93 to take first place while Megan Benson followed in second place. 

In the 50m freestyle, Gracie Harding finished second and Benson finished fourth. In the 200m IM, Maggie Myers came in with a time of 2:43.17 for a first place finish while Kortny Green finished with a time of 2:46.54. Kaylee Blair took first in the 100m butterfly touching the wall at 1:09.95. In the 100m freestyle, the Blue Jays finished second through fourth with Midura leading the way with a time of 1:08.50. Myers followed closely after with a time of 1:08.64. 

Maddey Brelsford took first in the 100m backstroke coming in with a time of 1:14.72 and Hillman finished third with a time of 1:19.42. In the 400m freestyle, Midura added a first place finish as she touched the wall at 5:22.87 while Jefferson finished in second place. Harding, Green, and Emma Sabalaske took the top three spots in the 100m breaststroke. The team of Hillman, Green, Poulos, and Myers finished off the day with a second place finish in the 200m freestyle relay. 

The Blue Jays return home tomorrow as they take on Landmark Conference opponent Scranton at 1PM.
