Baxter named Landmark Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. -- Brandon Baxter was named the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete on Wednesday. He is the fifth member of the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team to earn the distinction.

The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

Baxter was a two-time all-conference honoree in the Landmark. He placed seventh at the championship meet in 2022 to earn First Team honors and then finished ninth in 2023 for a spot on the Second Team. Baxter also ran to an All-Mid-Atlantic Region finish in 2022 when he took 29th (top 35 earn all-region honors).

The York, Pa. native had five top 10 finishes during his career, including a runner-up showing at this past fall's Blue Jay Alumni Challenge.

Baxter was a 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District choice and three-time Landmark Fall Academic Honor Roll selection. He was a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete and three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
