NEWVILLE, Pa. -- Matt Fick led the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team on Saturday at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational. The Blue Jays were 8th out of 17 teams in the Long Course team standings while three Jays competed in the Short Course.
Fick was the Jays' top runner in the 8,000-meter course at Big Spring High School. He was 31st overall in 26:41.5.
Brandon Baxter wasn't far off of him, taking 34th in 26:52.2.
Derek Kendig was the next Elizabethtown runner to cross. He was 47th in 27:12.3.
Christian Gingrich and
Will Inglis capped the scoring for the Jays as they came in back-to-back in 60th and 61st, respectively. Gingrich finished in 27:29.9 while Inglis ran 27:30.9.
Etown's gap between Fick and Inglis was less a minute, at 49 seconds. EC finished with 225 points as a team.

Grant Kuhn represented Elizabethtown in the 4k short course race.
The Blue Jays will be off this next weekend before heading back to the same spot for the Dickinson Pre-Nationals Meet on Saturday, October 7.
