SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Kelty Oaster was the top finisher for the Elizabethtown College women's cross country team at the Piper Alumni Open/XC Challenge Friday night. The Blue Jays were eighth out of 13 teams with 208 points.

A Landmark Conference First Team and Div. III Mideast all-region performer last season for the Jays, Oaster is off to a strong start to 2023. She was 10th overall on the 4,000-meter course in 15:26.1.

Amanda Kauffman was also inside the top 50 for Elizabethtown, placing 48th in 16:26.0. Isabelle Smith was just a few seconds behind, in 53rd, at 16:32.7.

Ellie Heilman took 63rd in her first collegiate XC race for Etown. She was 16:55.3. Isabell Anderson was the fifth scorer for EC, taking 71st, in 17:03.8.

Elizabethtown will host the Blue Jay Alumni Challenge next Saturday on their Solar Array Course.
