YORK, Pa. -- Trinity Soto won the discus and PR'd in the hammer while
Jocelynn Itterly set a new PR in the high jump to take second,
Melissa Fitzgibbon was also the runner-up in the 5k and
Erin Miller placed secondin the javelin as the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team competed at Wednesday's York College (Pa.) Twilight Meet. The meet was not scored.
Soto earned her third consecutive top-five finish in the discus this outdoor season and her first win in the event in 2023. She was one of three Blue Jays to place at York. Soto's winning throw was marked at 39.60m (129'11").
Mylea Neidig was eighth at 32.97m and
DaniRae Renno took ninth at 32.71m. Soto also set a new personal best in the hammer throw, where she finished seventh. Her best throw was 39.95m (131'1"), which improves her fifth-place standing on the school's all-time list.
Miller was in the top 10 in the javelin for the third consecutive outdoor meet to begin the season. Her throw is 40.01m (131'3") was a season-best while her second-place finish was also a season-best. Neidig placed fourth in the shot put at 11.11m.
On the track, Fitzgibbon was one of two Elizabethtown runners in the top 10 for the Blue Jays. The grad student ran 18:35.62 to place second.
Madison Webber was 10th in 19:49.02.
Laura Cardona placed in both hurdle races. First, she ran 16.94 in the 100m hurdles to take sixth. Later in the meet, she ran 1:08.02 to place fourth in the 400m hurdles.
Trinity Faupel was ninth in the 100m hurdles at 17.67.
Victoria Wert was eighth in the 800m and
Kylie Evoy was right there at the finish line with her, finishing seven one-thousands behind Wert for ninth.
The women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays each took fifth in their respective events.
Next up for the women's track & field team is a split weekend between the Messiah Invitational (Fri. 4/14 & Sat 4/14) and the Bucknell Outdoor Classic (Sat. 4/15).
