Men's track & field wins five events, takes first at Blue Jay Tune-Up

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- In their final meet before the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships next weekend, the Elizabethtown College men's track & field team won the Blue Jay Tune-Up this weekend after winning five events. Myron Holland Jr., Adam Carmo, Devon Soto, Malik Hudges, and the 4x100m relay each won for the Jays, who were first out of 15 teams with 178 points.

Holland ran 10.82 in the 100m prelims to take the top spot heading into the final. In the final, his time of 10.90 was the top time as he won the event for Elizabethtown. Carmo won the 110-meter hurdles in 17.08 and Soto took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, breaking 10 minutes with a 9:51.26. Hudges gave the Jays a win in the field events as he set a new PR in the high jump at 1.91m (6'3-1/4") to move to sixth on the program's all-time list. The 4x100m relay also won for Etown.

Evan Schwab, Collin Wolf, and Logan Miller were each runner-up in their events. Schwab was second in the 200m at 22.57, Wolf in the 400m hurdles, and Miller in the pole vault.

Brandon Baxter led four in the 800m with his third-place finish. Andrew Reice was fourth, Daniel Myers was eighth, and Nick Harder took ninth. Nolan Pettit was third in the 5,000m, Xavier Hall placed third in the triple jump while Zachary Kardos was also third in the javelin. The 4x400m relay finished third as well.

8th - Austin Smith (hammer)
9th - Joey Wagner (400m), Marty Ratchford (1500m), Aspen Stahl-Emig (shot put), Austin Smith (javelin)
10th - Hayden Dunlap (javelin)

*Hudges set a new PR of 12.73m (41'9-1/4"), tied for eighth on the all-time list

The men's track & field team will compete at next weekend's Landmark Outdoor Championships at Moravian University, beginning on Saturday, May, 6.
