ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's track & field team had athletes competing at both the Messiah Invitational and the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University over the weekend. The Blue Jays were 10th at the Messiah meet while
DaniRae Renno set a new discus PR at Bucknell for Etown.
Erin Miller was the top finisher for Etown at Messiah, taking second in the javelin at 36.45m. She placed seventh for the Jays on Sunday at the Bison Outdoor Classic with the conference's top mark of 41.79m. Miller currently ranks 10th in Div. III in the jav.
Maura Bradney placed third in the shot put at 11.17m, a new PR in the event and now fifth all-time.
Mylea Neidig was 10th in the shot put for Elizabethtown at 10.58m.
In Friday's discus competition,
Trinity Soto took fourth at 37.99m while Renno was sixth at 36.84m. On Saturday, both throwers also competed at Bucknell. Soto and Renno each recorded better throws than Friday for the Jays. Soto's best mark on Saturday was 38.97 while Renno wasn't far behind at 38.21m, her new PR to improve her second-place standing on the program's all-time list.
Laura Cardona placed in both hurdle races for EC. She was fourth in the 400m hurdles at 1:07.94 and seventh in the 100m hurdles at 16.69.
The women's track & field team will compete at Saturday's Mason-Dixon Invitational at Gettysburg College.
