Gingrich, Holland Jr. win events for men's track & field at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Juniors Christian Gingrich and Myron Holland Jr. won events for the Elizabethtown College men's track & field team at the Jim Taylor Invitational this past weekend hosted by Susquehanna University. The meet was not scored.

Gingrich started off his outdoor season with a win in the 10,000-meter run, taking the race in 32:43.31. Matt Fick was fifth at 33:28.99.

Holland Jr., coming off his All-America performance in the 60m two weekends ago, kept his momentum rolling into the outdoor season. He clocked in his first 100-meter dash of the spring with a 10.83 to win the event. Evan Schwab was eighth in 11.42. Schwab also placed in the 200m, taking seventh in 22.96.

Collin Wolf set a new personal best and took second in the 400-meter hurdles with his 58.80, which improves his eighth-place standing on the program's all-time list. Andrew Bolig was eighth.

Brandon Baxter placed in a pair of races for Elizabethtown. He was fourth in the 1500m and eighth in the 800m for the Jays. Daniel Myers took eighth in the steeplechase.

Zachary Kardos threw 51.95m in the javelin to lead the field athletes. He was fourth. Xavier Hall took fifth in the triple jump while Malik Hudges placed eighth. Jordan Figueroa was also eighth in the pole vault.

Jadon Green cleared 1.81m in the high jump to finish eighth. Hudges and Ethan Vallone tied for ninth for the Jays.

Aspen Stahl-Emig threw a huge PR in the hammer throw on Friday. His new top mark of 38.51m is now seventh all-time.

The Blue Jays will compete at the Millersville Metrics Meet on Saturday, April 1, at 9:30 a.m.
