ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown men's swim team hosted York (Pa.) in their final home dual meet of the season. The Blue Jays fell, 134-71 to the Spartans.
In the first relay of the evening the team of
Dylan Fitzgerald,
Connor Oswald,
Austin Smith, and
AJ West took second in the 200 medley relay clocking in at 1:41.18. In the 1000 freestyle,
Leif Hoffman claimed first coming in with a time of 10:12.79 while
Robert Midura finished fourth. In the 200 freestyle, West finished third touching the wall at 1:54.72, which was just a second behind the second place finisher.
In the 50 freestyle, York claimed the top three spots as Oswald, Smith, and
Garren McKenzie finished fourth through sixth.
Andrew Hoch took second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.64 and
Nicholas Carter finished behind him with a time of 2:11.79. In the 100 butterfly, West finished second coming in with a time of 55.35. In the 100 freestyle, the Spartans again claimed the top three spots with Hoch,
Alex Waskiewicz, and
Liam Quick trailing behind. Hoffman took second in the 100 backstroke clocking in with a time of 57.20 and Carter finished fifth with a time of 1:04.24.
In the 500 freestyle, Hoffman claimed the top spot coming in with a time of 5:01.40. Oswald finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.75 and Waskiewicz finished third with a time of 1:04.83. In the 200 freestyle relay, Etown finished third touching the wall at 1:35.41.
The Blue Jays are back in the water tomorrow, January 28th as they travel to Penn St.-Altoona.
