Women's track & field competes at Cardinal Track & Field Classic

LANDOVER, Md. -- The Elizabethtown College women's track & field team was back in action on Saturday at the Cardinal Track & Field Classic for the first time in 2023. Kelty Oaster and Laura Cardona each tied for the best individual performance at the meet. Etown took 8th out of 14 teams with 26 points.

Oaster was thrid in the mile at 5:13.34, a second shy of her personal best in the event. Cardona qualified for the 60-meter hurdle final after running 10.11 in the prelims, which was a new personal best. In the final, Cardona took third and lowered her career-best time to 10.08, which improves her third-place standing on the all-time list. Trinity Faupel also ran a PR in the prelims at 10.38.

Jocelynn Itterly tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.52m. Melissa Fitzgibbon was fifth in the 3,000-meter run in 11:05.71.

The 4x400-meter relays were fifth and seventh, respectively. Lucy Stern placed ninth in the triple jump at 9.47m.

Elizabethtown will have athletes competing at the Mid-Dip Invitational back at Franklin & Marshall on Friday, January 27.
