Royals Overpower Women's Swimming

SCRANTON, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's swim team fell, 173-89 at Scranton on Saturday opening up 2023. 

In the first event, the team of Maddey Brelsford, Emma Sabalaske, Sarah Marston, and Kaylee Blair took second in the 200 medley relay just two second behind Scranton with a time of 1:56.03. Hailey Poulos finished second in the 1000 freestyle coming in with a time of 11:55.20. Blair claimed the top spot in the 200 freestyle touching the wall at 2:00.77. In the 100 backstroke, Brelsford finished third with a time of 1:05.92. 

In the 100 breaststroke, Sabalaske (1:14.16), and Lexi Fink (1:14.98) finished third and fourth. In the 200 butterfly, Blair added another second place to her day as she clocked in at 2:23.31. Poulos finished fourth with a time of 2:24.51. Marston took first in the 50 freestyle, coming in with a time of 25.77 while Gracie Harding finished third with a time of 26.39. Marston claimed the top spot again in the 100 freestyle touching the wall at 54.23. 

In the 200 backstroke, Brelsford finished second and Blair finished third. Sabalaske finished third in the 200 breaststroke coming in with a time of 2:43.51. Poulos claimed second in the 500 freestyle touching the wall at 5:38.00. Marston added her third first place finish of the day as she came in with a time of 1:00.60 in the 100 butterfly. 

Elizabethtown returns home for the first time in 2023 on January 21 as they host McDaniel for senior day at 1 PM.
