HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Thanks to three runners in the top 20, the Elizabethtown College women's cross country team was the top-performing Division III program at Friday's Main Line Invitational. The Blue Jays totaled 104 points to tie for third, finishing behind only Penn and Villanova.
Melissa Fitzgibbon was the top finisher for Etown.
The reigning Landmark Conference WXC Athlete of the Week was at it again for Elizabethtown as she was the first to cross for the Jays. Her three-mile course time was 18:34.3, good for 13th overall.
She was joined inside the top 20 by
Bridget Kennedy, who was 15th in 18:39.6.
Madison Webber placed 18th in 19:04.2.
Megan Lysek-Hagy finished 22nd in the race and ran 19:19.8.
Isabelle Smith was the fifth scoring member for EC. She ran 20:23.6 for the Blue Jays.
Elizabethtown will be off next weekend prior to competing at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Friday, September 30.
