BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Elizabethtown College men's cross country team put all five scoring members in the top 30 as the Blue Jays finished second behind Johns Hopkins in the team standings Thursday evening at the Baltimore Metro Meet.
Nick Garrett was the top finisher for Etown.
While Hopkins scored the perfect meet with 15 points, the Jays were the only other team to break 100 at the meet.
Garrett was 17th overall in 16:18.2 for the 5k course. He was closely followed by
Daniel Myers, who placed 20th, eight seconds off Garrett's pace.
In his first race as a Blue Jay,
Max Oswald took 23rd.
Brandon Baxter and
Christian Gingrich finished one after the other, in 27th and 28th, respectively.
Elizabethtown's five-man gap was just 37 seconds, also second-best at the meet behind Hopkins.
Etown will host the Blue Jay Alumni Challenge on Saturday, September 10, at 11:30 a.m.
