Itterly, Oaster top performers for women's track & field at Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- Jocelynn Itterly and Kelty Oaster were the top performers for the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team on Saturday at the Millersville Metrics meet. Both were runners-up in their events for the Blue Jays. Trinity Soto also improved her school record in the discus.

Itterly was just shy of her outdoor personal best in the high jump. She cleared 1.57m (5'1-3/4") to take second and was one of only two athletes to clear five feet in the competition. Sydney Detky was 10th at 1.47m (4'9-3/4").

Oaster finished second in the 800m at 2:19.02 and ran a leg on the 4x400m relay that placed third.

Hallie Weaver was third in the 5,000m and Katie Guelcher was seventh in the 3,000m steeplechase. The 4x100m relay took eighth in 53.79.

Erin Miller was fourth in the javelin at 37.69m (123'8"). Soto was fourth in the discus and set a new personal best with a toss of 37.82m (124'1"), which improves her school record by nearly six feet. DaniRae Renno also had a season-best on Saturday. The freshman moved to fourth all-time with her throw of 35.49m (116'5"). The mark is also 10th-best in Landmark Conference history.

Sydney Detky ran the eighth-fastest 100m time for Etown with a 13.02. Laura Cardona moved from seventh to fifth all-time in the 400m hurdles with her 1:10.45.

The women's track & field team will compete at the Messiah Invitational next weekend.
