LEWISBURG, Pa. -- DaniRae Renno,
Marissa Lapinsky, and the 4x800m relay each had a Top 10 all-time performance for the Elizabethtown College women's track and field team this weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University. The 4x800m relay also set a new Landmark Conference outdoor record.
The meet started on Friday and Elizabethtown had several athletes in action. The notable performance of the first day was Renno's mark in the discus. She threw 35.66m (117'0") on her final attempt, which moved her from fourth to third all-time.Â
Kelty Oaster and
Marissa Lapinsky each set new personal bests in the 1500m. Oaster hit 4:47.47 and Lapinsky finished in 4:49.53.
Lapinsky came back Saturday to fly in the 800m for the Blue Jays. Her time of 2:15.84, a new PR, takes her from eighth to sixth on the all-time list.
Lapinsky and Oaster also competed in the 4x800m relay along with
Victoria Wert and
Megan Lysek-Hagy. They combined to run 9:42.70 and finished second overall, the top finish of the weekend for Elizabethtown. The time is also fifth-best in program history and now the new Landmark Conference record. The previous record was held by Juniata from 2011 (9:54.07).
The women's track & field team will compete at next Saturday's Mason-Dixon Invitational at Gettysburg.
