Blue Jays Roll Past Eagles for Third Landmark Conference Win

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Freshman Colin Johnson finished with a career-high six points, as the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team flew past Juniata, 26-3, in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in league play, while the Eagles fall to 1-10 overall and 0-4 in the Landmark in the program's inaugural season.

Johnson registered three goals and three assists to pace Etown to the program and Landmark Conference record 26 goals. Senior Micah Ballew (five goals), junior Colin Cummings (four goals, one assist), and sophomore Colin Kondracki (three goals, two assists) each tallied five points.

The Blue Jays took control of the game immediately, outscoring the Eagles 11-0 through the first quarter. Etown added five more goals in the second period to take a 16-2 lead into the half. It was more of the same in the second half, as the Blue Jays scored 10 more goals to earn their third Landmark win of the season, 26-3.

Senior Danny Gilbert was a perfect 14-14 at the face-off x, collecting a game-high 14 ground balls. Freshman Graham Temple (7-8) and sophomore TJ Chapman (9-10) combined to win 16-18 face-offs and collect a nine combined ground balls.

Senior Wes Mills, Cummings, sophomore Derek Baldwin, junior Riley Langen, and sophomore Gio Raso each finished with two caused turnovers.

Sophomore Brayden Franey (7-5) earned his seventh win of the season facing zero shots. Sophomores Alec Newman and Will Oberle and freshman Kyle Miller finished up the game, combining for seven saves on 11 shots.

Freshman Ryan Madison (0-1) took the loss, allowing 12 goals and making four saves. Sophomore Justin subbed in and played the majority of the game, making 29 saves.

Elizabethtown is back in action on Wednesday, April 20 against Moravian. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m.
