ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Marissa Lapinsky ran the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team's fifth-fastest indoor 800m time at the AARTFC Indoor Championships this weekend. The Blue Jays were 30th overall with three points. Lapinsky had one of three all-time performances at the meet for Etown.
The first of those all-time performances came Friday evening with the 4x400m relay. Lapinsky led off, with
Sydney Detky second,
Victoria Wert third, and
Kelty Oaster the anchor. The quartet ran 4:10.01 to place seventh with the program's eighth-best mile relay time.
Saturday morning,
Jocelynn Itterly set a new personal best in the high jump, clearing 1.55m (5'1") for the first time in her indoor career. She moved from a tie for eighth to sole possession of eighth all-time.
Around midday, Lapinsky and Oaster competed in the 800m. Lapinsky ended up eighth in 2:19.37, breaking 2:20 for the first time indoors and taking eighth overall. Her time moved her to fifth all-time. Oaster was tenth in the competition at 2:20.45, just off her own PR.
