SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Bridget Kennedy and
Hallie Weaver each won an event for the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University this weekend.
Jocelynn Itterly,
Sydney Detky, and
DaniRae Renno each had all-time performances for the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Kennedy was one of three runners for Elizabethtown to place in the top 10 as all three were in the top six. Kennedy won the 10k in 39:36.33.
Madison Webber was third in 40:25.76 and
Amanda Kauffman placed sixth in 42:03.41.
Weaver won the 3,000-meter steeplechase for Etown in 12:10.19. Brookelyne Wiley was eighth in 13:29.77.
The Blue Jays also had multiple top place finishers in the mid-distance events.
Marissa Lapinsky led a trio in the 800m with her second-place run of 2:20.00.
Kelty Oaster was fifth in 2:22.19 and
Victoria Wert took ninth in 2:27.94.
Oaster was the runner-up in the 1500m while Lapinsky was fourth. Oaster ran 4:56.38 and Lapinsky clocked in at 4:59.16.
Itterly and Detky both hit personal bests in the high jump. Itterly was fourth and Detky was fifth as both cleared 1.58m (5'2-1/4"). The duo were tied for sixth all-time and after Saturday's height, moved into a tie for fifth on the program's all-time list.
Trinity Soto was eighth in the discus with a throw of 35.81m (117'6"). Renno put herself on the top 10 list with the seventh-best throw in Etown history of 33.17m (108'10").
Erin Miller was fifth in the javelin at 37.61m (123'4").
Elizabethtown's 4x400m relay took ninth and the 4x100m relay was 10th.
The women's track & field team will compete at next Saturday's Millersville Metrics meet on April 2.
