Oaster wins three medals as women's track & field places 4th at Landmark Indoor Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Kelty Oaster won a pair of individual medals along with relay to account for three medals at the Landmark Indoor Championships on Saturday for the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team. The Blue Jays placed fourth with 72 points.

Oaster ran her fastest indoor 800m to win the event and Elizabethtown's lone individual gold medal of the day. The sophomore finished in 2:20.22, which is the fifth-fastest time in program history. Marissa Lapinsky won her first medal of the meet, taking the bronze in 2:22.43.

The duo were also on the podium in the mile. Oaster placed second in 5:12.23, the eighth-fastest time in school history. Lapinsky was fourth in the race at 5:19.21. Oaster and Lapinsky were also a part of the winning 4x400m relay to cap off the meet for the Blue Jays. Melissa Patton and Victoria Wert, along with Oaster and Lapinsky, combined to run 4:08.13 to win the mile relay. The time is the fourth-best in Etown history.

Wert medaled earlier in the day as a member of the silver-medalist distance medley relay. Axel Georgieff, Brooklyne WIley, and Megan Lysek-Hagy ran the other three legs of the DMR as the Jays took second in 13:16.82.

Oaster and the 4x400m relay earned All-Landmark Conference First Team honors for their finishes. Oaster and the distance medley relay were named All-Landmark Conference Second Team as the runners-up in their events.

Hallie Weaver led a trio of Elizabethtown runners to the 5,000-meter podium. Weaver finished the race in 19:05.50 to take bronze. Bridget Kennedy was fifth in 19:15.00 and Madison Webber placed sixth in 19:18.27.

Sydney Detky reached the podium three times for the Blue Jays. She set a new PR and moved into a tie for sixth all-time in the high jump after she cleared 1.57m (5'1-3/4"). She took third in the event. Detky ran sub-8.20 in both of her 60m races. First, she crossed in 8.15 in the prelims to qualify for the final. The time takes her from fourth to third all-time. Detky ran 8.19 in the final and finished fifth overall. She anchored the sixth-place 4x200-meter relay with Patton, Sarah Habiballah, and Natalie Shearer.

Jocelynn Itterly finished fourth in the high jump and tied her personal best after clearing 1.52m (4'11-3/4"), which is tied for eighth all-time.

Laura Cardona moved up to third all-time in the 60-meter hurdles and finished fifth in the event. Her prelim time of 10.26 moved her from fourth to third in program history. She ran 10.28 in the final. Devin Riss placed fifth in the pole vault at 2.75m (9'0-1/4").

Susquehanna won the women's title with 144 points.
